In the press release, you can see process photos of how they made a mask based on a bengal cat name Rui, who lives in Kyoto.
I doubt Rui was impressed by the workmanship.
We even leave behind fortunes for them, so making a mask in their honor isn’t really that wild.
The company touts how this allows the mask to pack away compactly, meaning that you can take it wherever you may need it.
Yay?
Something about how the Rui mask also looks surprised at its existence tickles me.
The product isn't cheap, though, costing 300,000 yen. At the time of this writing, that's around $2,600 US dollars.
On their website, there is a gallery full of photos showing a hyper realistic mask of an orangutan.

...it seems like this studio is the place to go.
Now, whether you're willing top pay upwards of $2000 to look just like your pet is another story.
Instagram artist @kamonohashizokei has tackled realistic animal masks for some time now — though there seems to be a focus on wild animals.
But also, cats. Because why not?
