Keanu Reeves And Sandra Bullock Finally Explain Why They Never Dated

Not to make a dated reference, but Keanu Reeves is so hot right now.

The internet has fallen in love with him after the releases of John Wick 3 and Always Be My Maybe. Between his adorable antics on press tours and absolutely delightful interviews, new stories about the nicest guy around are beginning to emerge.

Take Keanu and Sandra Bullock, for example. Bet you didn't know this was ever a thing, huh?

Keanu and Sandra co-starred in the movie "Speed".

You know, the movie your mom puts on during a lazy Sunday to watch while she cooks.

Wait, is that just my mom? Anyway.

Keanu and Sandra had incredible chemistry in the movie, which saw them trying to survive a bus bomb.

And unlike their real-life counterparts, they got together!

After a few run-ins with bombs, crooked cops, and high-speed modes of transportation, Jack and Annie celebrate surviving by kissing the hell out of one another.

Guys, they are so cute together.

The movie was such a hit that they made a sequel.

But we won't talk about it, because Keanu didn't reprise his role in Speed 2: Cruise Control.

The movie was a critical disaster. It has a rating of 4% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, which should tell you all you need to know about it.

Anyway, Keanu and Sandra's chemistry captured a lot of attention.

And it left many wondering...why on Earth didn't they ever date?

Thankfully, one brave soul (Ellen, it's Ellen) finally asked each of them that question...and their answers may make you pound your fist into your chair.

Ellen asked Sandra Bullock first.

In December 2018, Sandra Bullock appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show.

Ellen brought up that it had been 25 years since Speed was released in 1994, which Sandra was in total denial of.

(She figured it was more like 20.)

Actually, okay, first of all:

Apparently, the writer of Speed wrote the entire script with Ellen in mind for the role of Annie.

Since that was the role that launched her career, I can't be too upset about it. But wow, imagine Ellen in that role instead!

Okay, anyway.

So, Ellen asked what Sandra thought when she saw that picture of she and Keanu, and omg, y'all.

"I think about how sweet Keanu Reeves was, and how handsome he was."

Guys, she breathed out the word "handsome."

But she wasn't done.

"It was hard. It was really, it was hard for me to, like, really be serious.

He would look at me, and I'd be like—" And then she just giggled and made the above face.

And then Ellen asked the big question.

"Did y'all get together? Did you ever date him?"

Thank you, Ellen.

Sandra sadly had to break all of our hearts.

"No. There was something about me that he didn't like!"

She laughed through it, and I am only also laughing because I know how wrong she is! Okay!

She thinks that's why they were able to be friends for so long.

Ellen, who fully did not believe Keanu wouldn't like Sandra, said that maybe he was intimidated by her.

"No. There's nothing to intimdate. But I think we were probably friends for that long, because we didn't..." Please see the above image for the face she made.

So, fast forward to 2019.

Keanu stopped by Ellen, and of course she had to show him her interview with Sandra (after she informed him that she was meant to be his original co-star).

Yes, they included the party where Sandra made that weird winking face.

The clip finished, and...

The first thing he said when Ellen asked if he knew Sandra had a crush on him was:

"She obviously didn't know I had a crush on her, either."

As you can imagine, the audience screamed and gasped.

Ellen was all of us in that moment.

"I can't believe you both had crushes on each other, and you were so scared—"

"We were workin'!" Keanu said, to which I say...but what about after, Keanu? What about after you were workin'?

I'm. Dying.

"So that chemistry was real, because y'all really did have feelings like that!"

Keanu agreed, and Ellen thought it was sweet. And you can tell she meant it, because her whole face was so delighted to be talking about it.

So, when is the rom-com coming out?

Because I think we all know that this would be the perfect movie ever.

Boy and girl meet filming a movie, secretly fall for each other, don't tell each other, and then randomly admit it to Ellen Degeneres on TV 25 years later.

I'd watch that.
