Jennifer Lopez Fully Admitted That She Doesn't 'Really Count' Her First Two Marriages

Um, so this is new.

Jennifer Lopez is newly engaged, and thriving. She recently released a YouTube documentary chronicling her "It's My Party" tour, and she had some things to share about her past relationships.

According to JLo, she doesn't count her first two marriages as real. What? Let's find out why.

As you know, JLo is engaged to ARod.

They're the nickname couple, apparently.

He popped the question in March of 2019, and they both took to social media to share the news.

They dated for 2 years before getting engaged! Ugh, the adorableness.

JLo has been engaged 5 times now.

Her first engagement was to Ojani Noa.

He was a waiter that she met just prior to her career taking off. They married in 1997, and honeymooned in Cuba.

JLo was 28 at the time.

However, that marriage didn't last.

And things got ugly. They divorced in January 1998, just after she began to make it big.

After becoming famous, JLo actually had to sue Noa to stop him from releasing a tell-all book about their relationship.

The trouble didn't end there.

Unbelievably, JLo had to intervene again when he planned to release a private (read: sexual) video from their honeymoon in Cuba.

He intended to use the video to make a tell-all movie about their relationship, called I Owe JLO.

What a jerk.

JLo got remarried in 2001.

A few years after her divorce from Noa, JLo met Cris Judd on the set of the music video for her single, "Love Don't Cost a Thing."

(Sorry if that song is now stuck in your head.)

He proposed with a BIG ring.

After only a month of dating, he proposed with an emerald-cut ring that was reportedly worth six figures.

Side note: all of JLo's future rings would be emerald-cut, so it's clear the lady has a preference. Respect.

They were only married for 9 months.

They divorced in 2003.

Judd told US Weekly that nothing bad happened in their marriage—it just simply didn't work out.

Their divorce settlement was massive, and was reportedly one of the most expensive settlements in celeb history.

Rumors are that JLo shelled out up to $14m in the end.

She was then briefly engaged to Ben Affleck.

They met on the set of the film Gigli, which we will not talk about due to its massive terribleness.

After also starring in Jersey Girl and her music video for "Jenny From the Block," they got engaged and broke up in 2002.

Her last marriage was to Marc Anthony.

Six months after she and Ben Affleck called it off, JLo married Marc Anthony in 2004, in a surprise ceremony.

She counts her marriage to him as a real one, and for good reason!

They remained married for a long time.

After 10 years together, the two split in 2011. They didn't finalize their divorce until 2015.

They also share twins together, Max and Emme, born in 2008.

From everything they've said, their split was amicable, and they remain friends!

So, you can see why JLo said what she did.

In the documentary, she broke her relationships down:

"I've been married three times, and once was nine months and once was 11 months, so I don't really count those."

Understandable, understandable.

But her marriage to Marc counted.

"But I was married to Marc [Anthony] for 10 years, with the kids. I was very young the first two times I tried to get married."

She explained that her reasons for getting married the first two times were to avoid loneliness.

Public life was overwhelming.

"It seems like in this life you're always surrounded by people, you're never lonely—but it's very lonely. So you always want somebody with you," she said.

This is a little heartbreaking. She just wanted a person.

She needed a personal connection that was hers.

She said, "And I felt like if I got married, I felt like I would always have somebody, but that's not how life works."

Luckily, she has finally found her somebody!

PS, know how JLo and ARod first met?

Weirdly enough, it was back in 2005—while they were married to other people.

JLo attended a Yankees game with her then-husband, Marc Anthony, in 2005. It was there that she first met Alex Rodriguez.

Wild.
