'The Simpsons' Originally Wanted Homer To Be Revealed As Krusty

Yes, this is the reveal you never knew that you... maybe kind of wanted? It's a twist that hey, maybe they could do in Season 35 to switch things up a little.

I'm not sure any of us would have ever expected this to come up, but it's 2019, so here we are.

'The Simpsons' needs no introduction.

FOX

There's a reason that the show has been on for 31 seasons. There's a reason that it's the show both you and your parents watched and enjoyed.

It's incredibly culturally important.

There were a lot of great moments.

FOX

Episodes like "Homer the Great" (from Season 6) and "You Only Move Twice" (from Season 4) will resonate in our minds forever.

Others... like "The Principal and the Pauper" (From Season 9) we wish we can forget.

However, there is one twist that could have changed the course of the show forever.

FOX

Enter Krusty the Clown.

He's Springfield's biggest celebrity (much to the dismay, probably, of Kent Brockman) and after 30+ years of running the Krusty The Clown show, he's still a barrel of laughs.

But did you know...

FOX

That he and Homer were almost... the same person?

It makes sense, considering Dan Castellaneta voices both of them.

It's also cool how they wanted to do it because Homer couldn't get respect from his son, but he idolized Krusty.

Interesting, isn't it?
