High-Heeled Crocs Are The Latest And Greatest Affront To Fashion

Okay, this might be an unpopular opinion, but I don't understand why so many people are so into Crocs.

Like most of you, I had a pair when I was a kid. They were the O.G. design in a snazzy turquoise color and the heel strap broke within the first week of my owning them.

Sand got in the shoe holes, water got in the shoe holes, bugs got in the shoe holes... I hated them.

So when I see the Crocs company out here releasing more and more foam footwear, and people are still buying it up like the Kardashians are sporting a pair, I get unbelievably confused.

There's really no other way to introduce the painful sight that is high-heeled Crocs.

According to Insider, these atrocities are known as the "Cyprus V Heel," which basically looks like an ungodly cross between a wedge and a high heel that got punched in the face by a Croc.

The two-inch heel and foam foot-bed promise all-day comfort so you can go from gardening to clubbing in a snap.

And, as the company explains, this design features "An elegant strap with a little more top-of-foot coverage" so you can rest easy knowing you won't lose these beauties during a night out on the town.

Great.

Oh, and they want to assure everyone that they will most definitely "appreciate the subtle elastic on the straps for a more forgiving fit."

They come in three colors: black, white, or white with purple for a little extra fun.

But believe it or not, the most surprising fact you'll read in this entire story is NOT that a pair of these heels costs $55 (which, by the way, they do).

I suppose it could be worse.

It could be these bright yellow platform versions that are selling out.

Though, now that I think about it, that may not be a stretch.

The '90s are creeping back into fashion and my teenage self may have been happy to rock those platform crocs while singing along to the Spice Girls in my embellished, flared jeans.

Yes, you read that right, these crocs heels actually *sell out*.

I'm not kidding. On the website at the time of this writing, you can only order a black pair in size 9 because the rest are out of stock.

People are buying these things *up* and I just do not understand.

Maybe the quality has improved since I quickly ruined my childhood pair. I mean, there must be a reason the brand survived, right?

And truly, if these heels even come close to the comfort they advertise, that's pretty good.

Ah well, c'est la vie.

If you want to snag a pair for yourself but aren't a size 9, you should try your luck on Amazon and just pray you get there before they all inexplicably sell out, too.
