Mom Says She's Proud To Be Called A 'Bad Mom' In Viral Post

Mom-shaming is not exactly new, but it seems that social media has made it easier to judge parents.

Fed-up with all the comments, one mom decided to set the record straight and own up to her so-called title of "bad mom".

Sia Cooper is a popular health blogger and also a mom of two.

Through her website, Diary of a Fit Mommy, and her social media profiles, Sia shares exercise tips and routines with her followers.

Since she is a mom herself, Sia often focuses on ways for moms to stay active.

She offers workouts that are tailored specifically to women in the postpartum period. Sia has also shared how she stays active and balances life as a mom.

Sia is also challenging the conventions of what it means to be a fitness influencer.

Influencers aren't usually known for their flaws, but in this post, Sia got real about her scars, stretch marks, and cellulite.

She said these aspects of her body used to make her self-conscious, but now, they have "zero hold" over her.

In one of her most viral posts to date, Sia shut down those who judge her parenting.

Specifically, she was fed up with other moms calling her a "bad mom" or judging her parenting style.

In the staged photo that accompanied the post, Sia is drinking a bottle of wine while her children indulge in chocolate and screen time.

"If I had a nickel for every time I’ve been called a 'bad mom,' I would be soooo rich! It seems almost impossible to be a textbook or politically correct good mom these days because everywhere you turn another mom is judging your parenting choices," she said in her post.

She went on to say that most of this judgement came from fellow moms.

"I’ve learned that the true 'bad moms' out there are the ones who constantly tear other moms down by judging them," she said.

Sia wants to end the shaming once and for all, but if that's not possible, she'll proudly embrace the title of "bad mom".

"Being a mom is hard enough and if all the following make me a 'bad mom' then I’ll gladly wear it proudly! Here’s to all the bad moms out there," she said.

For many moms, this has been an ongoing problem and they were glad that Sia finally addressed it.

This mom said she felt judged when she was parenting her kids two decades ago. It's about time we stopped the mom-shaming cycle.

Moms agreed that the real issues are with the moms who think it's okay to judge others.

No one is a perfect parent and social media has made it even easier to cast judgment. As Sia said, there's no one right way to parent, so let's celebrate that instead of putting down other moms.
