Well, that is the strangest comparison I've ever seen. But we can kind of understand the analogy.
There is something to be said about playing iconic characters on screen, so it makes sense that Tom Hanks would feel very important after playing the role of Mr. Rogers.
TV star? Inspiration to many? Probably wholesome, right?
If not, then you might just think about Tom Hanks, who's going to be playing the TV star in his new movie, A Beautiful Day In The Neighbourhood.
Because that's what Tom Hanks thinks about, at least.
The other day he went on Jimmy Kimmel to discuss playing the iconic TV character/real-life man and compared him to the superhero.
He said to Jimmy Kimmel:
“You put on that red sweater and blue shoes, you might as well be putting on Batman’s cape and cowl. You feel powerful."
Don't let it go to your head, Hanks.
And it's about as wholesome as you'd expect. I mean, it's an interview with Jimmy Kimmel about a Tom Hanks movie where he stars as Mr. Rogers.
It couldn't be any more wholesome if they tried.
