Snooki Reveals That She's Retiring From 'Jersey Shore'

We never thought we'd see the day, but Snooki's fist-pumping days are over.

She's leaving Jersey Shore.

The reality star just announced the heartbreaking news, so excuse us while we go cry and take a shot of pickle juice in her honor.

It's truly the end of an era: Snooki just announced that she's retiring from "Jersey Shore."

cue the tears

Snooki (real name Nicole Elizabeth Polizzi) has been on the hit MTV show since it first premiered in 2009.

Thanks to her fun-loving ways, she was a fan-favorite right from the get-go.

I mean, how could she not be when the first thing that came out of her mouth upon entering the Jersey Shore house was, "party's here!"

Years after the show ended in 2012, Snooki went on to join her fist-pumping pals for its highly-anticipated revival in 2018.

The 32-year-old has now appeared on all three seasons of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.

But don't think that Snooki's television career hasn't been limited to just "Jersey Shore."

She's made quite the name for herself outside of her Jersey Shore antics.

For instance, she had her own spin-off show with BFF and Jersey Shore alum, JWoww, a stint on Dancing with the Stars, and even her own renovation show with her husband.

Plus, she even has her own podcast called "It's Happening with Snooki & Joey."

It was actually on this platform where she announced the sad news that she's retiring from Jersey Shore.

It was clearly a tough decision for the star as she said: "I'm going to throw up" before announcing it.

"OK, you guys, I love you so much and don't hate me for my decision, but I have to do what's best for me at the moment, and I am retiring from Jersey Shore."

"I am not coming back to Jersey Shore [Family Vacation] for a season four, if there is one," Snooki continued.

There are several reasons why she decided to leave, but the biggest and most important one comes down to this:

She doesn't want to leave her family anymore.

This includes her husband Jionni LaValle and their three kids, Lorenzo, Giovanna, and baby Angelo.

Doing so has been "really really hard" on her, so much so that she's even tried to quit the show "every single day."

"I hate being away from the kids, I don't like partying three days in a row, it's just not my life anymore," she shared.

"And I wanna be home with the kids. I don't mind a here or there going to a dinner or whatever, but it's just really hard on me to leave the kids and film the show."

She added that she doesn't like the way she's being portrayed on the show.

She wants to appear as a "good person," but all of the drama has been making that difficult.

"Our show, 'Jersey Shore,' is about family and about making fun of each other and having a good time and laughing, and just knowing that it's all in good fun," Snooki said.

"And lately, it's just like, everything is so serious, and when it comes to our show it's not about like, team this, team that, and fans are against one another when it comes to a cast member. That's just not how the show works and that's how it's becoming."

To add to all the reasons already mentioned, she's also been receiving death threats.

They're not just directed to her, though — they're also directed to her kids. That would be reason enough for anyone to want to leave.

The protective mamma said that it's “just a lot and not something I signed up for with this show.”

Just as fans aren't taking the news well, neither are her "Jersey Shore" fam.

A close source told E! that the roomies are "not surprised about Snooki's decision not to return to the show."

"She had a particularly tough time going back and forth and leaving her kids for days at a time to go out drinking and acting like they did when they started the show a decade ago," they explained, recalling conflict with Angelina Pivarnick.

"Her fight with Angelina was one of those moments that she 'tried to quit' like she said on her podcast. She really almost did that night."

Fans can rest assured, though, that this isn't the end for the perfecting pairing of Snooki and reality TV.

“I’m not saying goodbye,” she said.

“I just need to move on from the show because I don’t like the direction it’s going in when it comes to the drama and the cattiness.”

As for her relationships with her "Jersey Shore" fam? Snooki made things clear on that, too.

"I love my roomies to death — they know that. I'm not going anywhere when it comes to them and them being my family."

In other words, the family that GTL's (gym, tan, laundry) together, stays together.

We'll miss you, Snook!
