Fans Are Angry After The Golden Globes Fail To Nominate A Female Director — Again

With award show season upon us (thank GAWSH) the nominations have been rolling in and naturally, there's a lot of opinions about WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON.

The Golden Globes announced their nominations on Monday morning.

There were a lot of wins (Jennifer Lopez being nominated for her work in Hustlers) but also, a lot of disses (Constance Wu NOT being nominated for her work in Hustlers).

The most glaring diss, however, was the complete lack of female director nominees.

Which is something the award show has come under fire for BEFORE.

This move makes absolutely no sense as there were a HOST of amazing directors that got snubbed:

Greta Gerwig for Little Women.

Céline Sciamma for Portrait Of A Lady On Fire.

Lulu Wang for The Farewell.

OH WAIT, THERE'S MORE:

Kasi Lemmons for Harriet,

Marielle Heller for A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.

Lorene Scafaria for Hustlers.

AND Olivia Wilde for Booksmart.

And that's just to name a few.

In fact, in 77 years of the Golden Globe awards, only FIVE female directors have been nominated for Best Director.

And, a woman hasn't received a Best Director nomination since 2015.
