20 Tiny Details That Were Unexpected But Welcome

Every now and then, you'll hear about someone winning a wonderful prize because they actually took the time to read through some website's terms and conditions and found the Easter egg hiding in there.

Does that make anybody more likely to spend three hours squinting at the driest prose ever composed? It's hard to say for sure, but it does go to show that looking closely at something can be worthwhile.

The things drone operators have to watch out for.

Reddit | T-REXX3000

Not putting fingers or toes into the drone's spinning blades ought to be obvious - but of course it's best to spell it out just in case. Not summoning thunderbolts with your mighty hammer, however? It's almost like they don't want you to have any fun at all.

These operator's manuals are getting thorough.

I guess it must have happened once or twice, so juuuust in case, this vacuum maker wants to make sure that nobody puts their appliance down on a hot stove. Or a cold stove that later gets turned on, I suppose.

Hey, I've lost a coffee maker to an oven exhaust before, so don't say it can't happen!

Well worn soles.

Only after wearing these shoes long enough would you ever know that there were smiley faces waiting to be revealed. And you'd have to look at the bottom, too, so there's some extra hiding going on here.

They thought of everything.

This person had owned their toy light saber for six years before discovering that the designers had included some toy kyber crystals, elements that are faithful to how light sabers are constructed in the Star Wars universe.

Didn't even know that was possible.

But, if you read the fine print on a Wiffle bat, you'll discover that they've trademarked the color yellow. Of course, that's just to make sure somebody doesn't make bright yellow knock-off plastic bats, so it's not like nobody can ever use yellow again.

But it's a bit odd to see.

That's a strange material.

Reddit | brfergua

According to the packaging, this face mask appears to have been made with 60% sandwich and 20% non-woven fabric. I'm not sure whether we should worry more about a mask made of someone's sandwich, or that it only adds up to 80%.

A slice of nice.

Reddit | JimmyJackJericho

When this company makes a pizza cutter, they don't leave anything out. As you can see, they've added a little "product code" that spells out "pizza" as "P177A." Nice touch.

Surprise smiles.

It probably wasn't meant to do this, but the spiral design in this railing casts a happy little shadow. So, even when you're looking down, it's a nice reminder to try to look up, too.

History under your feet.

You don't have to worry about these tiles being synthetic. You'll get a reminder of their authenticity every time you walk over this spot, which clearly contains a fossil.

How peaceful.

Reddit | chelsea-pants

You'd probably never know it if you walked past this pile of wood chips and shavings, but from above, it's clear that the owners of this land are pro-peace.

Peaceful, take two.

Reddit | TheMessiahOfMooism

If you miss out on the wood chips, there's always this peace symbol hiding in the pull tab of a can. The brand is, appropriately, Peace Tea, so it's a nice marketing tie-in, too.

One slice pepperoni, one slice jalapeno...

And you know it wasn't done just for the tips. I mean, who opens their pizza box before tipping their driver? No, this was just attention to detail by the pizza slinger.

Good ol' Honest Abe.

On older pennies that featured the Lincoln Memorial, if you looked closely, you could make out the statue of Lincoln inside. Talk about tiny details to include on a mint's press.

That's so supportive.

Reddit | fripan

No, really, this building has gone out of its way to help along a ridiculously tall cactus. It's higher than the roof now, and they've built in supports for it all along the side of the building to help it stay upright.

Okay, that's flashy.

Reddit | maxjohnson3330

This basketball lights up like this when a camera flash goes off. Not sure why it needs to, but it must make for some interesting pics during a pick-up game. Seems like the sort of thing that could make a really cool Insta spread, if nothing else.

In the know.

Reddit | CaptainSpoonerism

Anybody out there get this jacket's reference? You have to be a special kind of something, or maybe have been oddly interested in a certain raid in 2019, to pick up what this jacket is putting down - those are the latitude and longitude coordinates for Area 51.

Thanks, tips.

Reddit | Goldpanda94

Just in case anybody was tempted to try doing laps in this pool that has a depth of about five inches, there's a "no swimming" sign on the edge.

Maybe it's less of a regulatory sign than simply a statement of what's possible here.

Spooky!

Reddit | l82daparty

I genuinely wish I'd had books like this when I was a kid. Those lucky tykes in Japan, however, get to scan over these books with a blacklight to find hidden images on each page.

How awesome is that?

That's handy!

This little lip in the driver's side of the Toyota Corolla has mystified many in its day, but at least one person out there realized that it can perfectly fit eight quarters for all your parking meter needs.

Spelled out.

Reddit | ComradeMMMM

You might not notice from ground level, but from above, it's easy to see how this fire and ambulance station has incorporated its number into its design.

Nobody in that neighborhood will forget what number that station is.
