'The Wonder Years' Is Being Rebooted With A Black Family

I have GREAT news for fans of the OG feel-good family show, The Wonder Years!! That's right, the iconic show is getting a reboot from the perspective of a black family!

ABC is taking on the task of this much needed sitcom that will hopefully help Americans better understand each other.

Doesn't that just sound awesome?!

For those of you who never got the PLEASURE of watching *The Wonder Years*, it was a 1988 coming-of-age drama-comedy that ran for six ICONIC seasons.

The show starred Fred Savage as a middle-class suburban teenager and focused around his life growing up during the late 1960s and early '70s.

Now, the show, which went off air in 1993, is being rebooted for a new generation of viewers!

The show will be set in the same time period, but will of course, tell a very different story.

That story will be of a black family living in Alabama during the civil rights movement.

The official description for the show: "How a black middle-class family in Montgomery, Alabama in the turbulent late 1960’s, the same era as the original series, made sure it was The Wonder Years for them too."

Empire co-creator Lee Daniels is helping revive the classic series, so it's sure to be an amazing show!

We're so glad to hear this important coming of age TV show will be introduced to a whole new generation!
