Glee star Naya Rivera has been reported missing following a boat trip in California, confirm the Ventura County Sheriff's Office early Thursday morning. The actress and musician was best known for portraying the character of Santana Lopez on Glee, but also made appearances on RuPaul's Drag Race, American Dad, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

'Glee' Star Naya Rivera Missing After Possible Drowning During Boat Trip
Naya, 33, was confirmed missing by local police after a boat trip.
Local news reported that Naya had rented a boat on Tuesday, but that she had gone missing and the search is still ongoing.
Naya's 4-year-old son was found safe on the boat.

According to the police, a few hours after Naya rented the boat, another boater discovered her son sleeping alone on the boat. This boater then called the authorities who immediately began a search for Naya using helicopters, drones, and dive teams.
Naya's son has been reported to be unharmed.

The child reported that he and his mother had gone swimming, but his mother did not get back into the boat.
“There’s a lot of challenges in a reservoir this size, at times with visibility,” Capt. Eric Buschow of the sheriff’s department said.
“I don’t have details yet as to the depth of the area where the boat was found or what conditions they’re encountering out there.”

Friends and co-stars of Naya have taken to social media to ask for thoughts and prayers.

Naya's Glee co-star Heather Morris, who played Santana's love interest Brittany Pierce, shared on her Instagram story, "We need all the prayers we can get to bring our Naya back home to us. We need your love and light."
Demi Lovato, who played Dani on the show, also wrote on her Instagram story.

"Please pray for Naya Rivera to be found safe and sound," Demi wrote alongside a picture of a lit candle.
Other former Glee co-stars have also shared with social media that they are thinking of Naya and hoping for her safe return.
Iqbal Theba, who played Principal Figgins on the show, retweeted an article about the news.
Fans have also taken to social media to share their thoughts and wishes for Naya to be found safe.
"I’m praying for Naya Rivera. Her family, her son. Please don’t stop looking for her. She is someone. Please reunite her with Josey. My heart is breaking," one fan tweeted.
"I was able to spend some time with Naya during some press that we both had one day," tweeted actress Bailee Madison.
"She was lovely, and beautiful. My heart is so heavy reading this news. Prayers for her to be found safe and well, and prayers for peace for her son and family," she said.
There has not yet been an update on the search.
