Billie Eilish Almost Went To Therapy Over Her Obsession With Justin Bieber

Like most girls, Billie Eilish went through a phase where her obsession with Justin Bieber may have gotten a little bit out of hand.

Ladies, we have all been there, am I right?

But Billie's mom recently revealed that at one point, she was genuinely concerned about her daughter's fandom, and even considered bringing her to therapy because of it.

There's no denying that for a while, Justin Bieber was the object of obsession for most young girls.

I think I can safely say that most of us went through a Justin Bieber phase when we were pre-teens, young teenagers, and even some adults!

He's dreamy, what can I say?

And Billie Eilish is no different. Pre-famous Billie a J-Biebs stan by every definition.

She knew all of his songs and had every J-14 poster of him on her bedroom wall.

The obsession was real! To be fair, she was quite young at the time, as you can see.

It was so real, in fact, that at one point Billie's mom, Maggie, was genuinely concerned and considered bringing her to therapy.

Billie and Maggie recently opened up about this fact on Billie’s podcast me & dad radio.

Her mom explained that she began to worry when Billie sobbed uncontrollably at Justin's "As Long As You Love Me" video.

To be fair, she was 10 years old when that came out!

I am pretty sure that most 10-year-olds are emotional!

“[I remember] driving to the dance studio with Billie," her mom recalled.

"Playing this song, her sobbing, and then driving back and sobbing,” she added.

Some of us get emotional over the Biebs, ok? It is totally normal! Right?

She revealed that Billie was so excited for the video to come out, she couldn't contain her emotions.

“And the video and Billie talking about it and being excited it was coming out and just crying and crying," Maggie said.

Billie chimed in, explaining that she was a rather emotional child, and spent much of her early-teen years crying.

“There was a period where I cried every single day of my life, when I was like 13, 14, 15. Every single day, I cried,” she said.

“And 17, 18, I cried barely at all. I’m proud to say I barely cry anymore and it’s one thing I’ve overcome," she continued.

"This is a big deal. Not that it’s wrong to cry," she added.

As someone who loves to cry during movies, I'm glad people recognize there's nothing wrong with it.

"But it’s a good thing I feel happier in my life and I don’t want to cry anymore.”

But her mom didn't want to wait until she grew out of it!

Her mom quipped that her obsession was alarming nonetheless, and she did contemplate bringing her to see a therapist.

"I just want to say, we did consider taking you to therapy because you were in so much pain over Justin Bieber," Maggie said.

By the way, Billie and Justin did eventually go on to meet each other once she became famous, and it was a beautiful sight to behold.

Justin's manager, Scooter Braun, shared a video to Instagram of the exact moment the two met.

"Beautiful moment. She finally met the kid!," he captioned the photo.

Maggie also shared a post to commemorate the special night that her daughter had.

"This night! Thank you @justinbieber for making this perfect moment for Billie," she captioned it.

"Words will never express how grateful we are to you for all that you have meant to Billie".

Look at that hug! She is literally living her best possible life and we love it for her!

"And for being such a huge part of our lives," she concluded.

Billie and Justin have seemingly gone one to have a pretty solid friendship!

He even teared up in a recent interview, talking about how he feels obligated, in a way, to protect her.

"If she ever needs me I’m just a call away," he said.

And that's just about the most adorable thing I've ever heard. I'm so happy that they're friends, and I'm sure Billie is too.

What do you think of Billie Eilish's mom's remarks about nearly taking her to therapy when she was younger, over her obsession with Justin Bieber?

Do you think it was overdramatic or she was making the right call?
