A 'Bahama Mama' Cocktail Is Basically The Tropical Remix Of A Boozy Shirley Temple

We may not be able to actually physically head to the tropics because of well, you know, the virus-who-shall-not-be-named, but it doesn't mean we can't be transported there in spirit!

So grab your swimsuit, sunglasses, sunscreen, and beach towel, because the tropics are calling and she's a cocktail named "Bahama Mama."

Don't let your eyes deceive you—this drink right here is *not* a Sex on the Beach.

It's called a Bahama Mama, and while it may look very similar to a Sex on the Beach, its ingredients actually make it more of a tropical boozy Shirley Temple remix.

Every recipe has its own unique ingredients, but the cocktail's mainstays are dark rum, coconut rum, grenadine syrup, and orange and pineapple juices.

Some recipes, like this one add some lemon-lime soda for an added kick of carbonation.

Many also garnish their drinks with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry to really give it that resort drink feel.

If you don't want to bother gathering all the ingredients to make one from scratch, there are a few premixed options out there to choose from.

Bacardi's own Bahama Mama premixed cocktail has been around for awhile, but you can currently find it at Sam's Club for $12.28, as spotted by Instagrammer @samsclubmembers.

We also spotted Bahama Mama ready-to-drink cans by Clubtails that have a whopping 10% ABV per 16-ounce can.
