Kamala Harris's Easy 5-Step Cornbread Stuffing Recipe Will Win Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving might look a little different this year but that doesn't mean you can't carry on some of the more important traditions. And by "important" I mean delicious.

Sure, this is the holiday to reflect on your fortunes in life, to be grateful for what you have, and to spend quality time with family. But let's be honest, above all else, it's the holiday to stuff your face silly, lick your fingers clean, and unbutton your pants at the dinner table. (No? Just me?)

Thankfully, we have vice president-elect and all-around inspiration Kamala Harris to help us achieve this task with her easy, five-step recipe for the most delicious cornbread stuffing you ever did read about.

This year, I'm thankful for strong women, a fair democratic process, and stuffing. I'm always thankful for stuffing.

The vice president-elect's stuffing recipe was unveiled in a recent Instagram post in which she said that she often turns to cooking in challenging times. (What a coincidence, I often turn to eating. We'd make a great pair!)

It's so easy and fast to make, I may just add it to my usual cooking routine. It would complement any tasty fowl dish.

It all starts with cornbread mix, as many good things in life do. Then you add in some spicy pork sausage, onions, apples, celery, chicken broth, and a smattering of herbs like rosemary and thyme.

And then, butter, of course. Because butter makes everything better.

OMG, I'm salivating.

The best part is, some of it can be made in advance, which is always helpful when you're cooking an intricate meal.

The part that can be made in advance is the cornbread, which Harris says can be baked the night before.

Unfortunately, in my house that would mean that it would likely be eaten the night before too.

It also doesn't take that much time in the oven, so hello, quick and tasty side dish.

I've always wanted to be a tasty side dish, and now I can be the one to make it, too.

But seriously, this thing only takes 40 minutes in the oven and I can just imagine how amazing the house would smell.

All that there's left to say is: thank-you, Madam Vice President-Elect.

A brilliant woman who stands up for the rights of others, acts as a role model for women and girls around the world, can lead with empathy and authority, and can cook?

This is who I want to be when I grow up!

Let us know if you try out this recipe and how it turns out. It's a winner, for sure.
