Quotes For When It's Been A Long Week By Mid-Morning On Monday

So, fun fact: for the last two years, I haven't worked a standard Monday-through-Friday. Instead, I've had a work week that included Saturday and Sunday.

I don't mind that schedule. Sure, it's annoying to have every social event happen on a work night, but it's hella convenient to be able to make appointments on weekdays.

That said, as anyone who works Saturdays and Sundays will tell you, it will never *not* feel like you're working on the weekend.

The cultural power of Monday-to-Friday, nine-to-five is so firmly ingrained in our psyche that it will always feel like you're working on you day off, even if that's not actually true.

Over time, you will slowly want to murder the next coworker who utters the phrase "TGIF."

Instead of work days and weekends being clearly delineated, you end up in this weird sort of limbo where you end up forcing yourself to be extra productive Wednesday-through-Friday, because you know from experience that even though you know Saturday and Sunday are work days, your subconscious will not be able to focus on it.

A Wednesday is a Wednesday, but for you it's sort of a Monday, but everyone else is calling it Hump Day, and your brain is just like, no.

Suffice it to say, I'm very excited to be going back to a classic Monday-to-Friday soon.

Though it is a shame about having to go back to fighting with business hours when I need an appointment.
