Chef Creates Transparent Lemon Meringue Pie That Has People Begging For The Recipe

When you picture the idea of a transparent lemon pie, what do you see? Something invisible, or maybe a meringue that isn't totally opaque?

No matter what you may think it looks like, I promise it doesn't live up to the reality.

The pie was invented by chef James Dempsey.

He owns the Blackmoor Dining Room in Leeds, England, where he whips up unbelievably cool (and often viral) creations in his kitchen.

The lemon meringue is his most popular dessert, and it's pretty easy to see why.

James is pretty humble about his work.

"I don’t see myself as unique—I’m just doing my job with passion," he told Bored Panda. "I believe myself to have just been lucky with a few bits and bobs."

The pie is one of his most closely guarded secrets.

Despite tons of comments asking him how he achieved his transparent masterpiece, James remains "mum" about the process. I guess we'll all just have to visit Leeds to get a look at it for ourselves, huh?

James said making the food isn't the most challenging part of his job.

The actual hardest part? "Keeping up with the trends. But, it just means I have to be more creative and find new & unique ways of doing things," he said on Instagram.
