The style combines the clean lines of modern designs with rustic elements like natural wood or shiplap walls and vintage-inspired amenities like clawfoot tubs or farmhouse sinks. There's often a lot of chalk paint involved.
I mean, last year I had my father and brother-in-law manhandle a salvaged clawfoot tub up my narrow staircase, so I'm certainly not immune to the appeal.
Even though the tub slipped and nearly smashed a window — not to mention my brother-in-law — I still think the final result is worth it.
Recently, Jennifer Lopez appeared on Ellen where they talked about her recent two-year anniversary with boyfriend Alex Rodriguez.
After Ellen presented her with the gift of a giant clock, J. Lo revealed what Rodriguez had gotten her.
In fact, she'd even joked a few times that she'd love to have Joanna Gaines fix up the new beach house she and Rodriguez had purchased in Malibu.
Still, the beach house needs work, so Rodriguez told J. Lo that he'd scheduled a meeting with an architect.
At the meeting, he opened up FaceTime and revealed that the meeting was a surprise chat with Gaines!
Cameras caught the pair out on the beach touring the property together, with Gaines' new baby in tow.
They weren't alone, either. A camera crew was with them.
A source told PEOPLE that the visit was just so that Gaines could see the space before making any commitments.
"There is no formal plan for any of the footage and there have not been any final decisions made in terms of whether Joanna will be involved [in designing the house] or to what extent."
The channel is described as a "direct-to-consumer streaming service" and what better way to promote it than with J. Lo?
Of course, that's just my prediction. Either way, I can't wait to see the final result if the beach house does end up getting the Magnolia treatment!
