On Friday, March 15, a white supremacist open fired on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, killing 50 people and injuring at least 50 more. It was a horrific, Islamaphobic terrorist attack that left the Muslim community shaken.

Misplaced Blame

While many have rightly blamed the incident on the rise of white supremacist rhetoric and xenophobia, on far-right senator, Fraser Anning, took a more bigoted approach. He blamed the Muslims themselves for the shooting and pointed a finger at New Zealand's immigration policies.

"The real cause of bloodshed on New Zealand streets today is the immigration program which allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand in the first place."

Vigilante Egging

Following these inflammatory comments, one teenager, Will Connolly, took matters into his own hands. At a press event the next day, he slapped an egg into the back of Anning's head. Watch that video on a loop for a bit. It's quite cathartic.

Released Without Charges

Luckily, after giving his statement to the police, he was released without charges.

Connolly plans to donate the money raised from the GoFundMe to the families of the victims of the attack because he doesn't want to "profit from crime."

Truly, this kid is a good egg.
