This Fan Theory About Daenerys Getting Pregnant Has The Internet Gasping

Game of Thrones season 7 ended with Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen consummating their love. That led to theories about Daenerys getting pregnant, naturally.

People are kind of freaking out about that. But would it really be a bad thing? Let's take a look.

The Power Couple

HBO

Jon and Daenerys really do look good together, don't they? They've survived their trials and found love with each other.

Unfortunately, they're related. And what they don't know may ultimately tear them apart.

Meet the Parents

HBO

Daenerys' late brother, Rhaegar, secretly wed Lyanna Stark during Robert's Rebellion.

As their son, Jon Snow is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.

Also, his real name is Aegon Targaryen, and he's Daenerys' nephew. Oh yeah, that's gonna be awkward.

Family Tradition

HBO

Incest is technically taboo in Westeros, but it's not unheard of in this world.

When it came to the Targaryen kings and queens of old, the words "sister wives" were not a euphemism.

Viserys Targaryen

HBO

If there's a poster child for why incest is a bad idea, it's Viserys Targaryen.

The late Viserys emotionally abused his sister, and essentially sold her into an arranged marriage.

However, Viserys still felt creepily entitled to Daenerys, right up to his death.

Bad Blood

HBO

It's been theorized that Viserys' instability and his lack of resistance to fire and heat were a result of decades of inbreeding.

King Joffrey, another product of incest, was also quite mad. Are bad genetics to blame?

Horse: It's What's for Dinner

HBO

Of course, the last time Daenerys was pregnant, she had to eat a horse heart as part of a Dothraki ritual.

Remember that part where Emilia Clarke almost barfed? Totally not an act.

The Lost Love

HBO

Daenerys and her husband, Khal Drogo, truly came to love each other and their unborn child.

However, Daenerys lost both her husband and her child to a tragedy.

She was also told that she couldn't have children again.

Mother of Dragons

HBO

Daenerys was reborn in fire as the mother of dragons. Three dragons, to be precise.

She has loved them as her own, and openly regards them as the only children she'll ever have.

But are they?

The House of the Undying

HBO

Here's where things get interesting.

In the House of the Undying, Daenerys had a vision of King's Landing overcome by an unrelenting winter.

Many fans believe this was a vision of the future.

In the books, we dive deeper into the prophecy which says, "When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east. When the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves. When your womb quickens again, and you bear a living child. Then he will return, and not before.”

Reunited

HBO

As part of her vision, Daenerys reunited with Drogo and their lost child.

However, the current interpretation of this scene is that it meant she would find love again.

That would make Drogo the stand-in for Jon. And then there's the baby...

No Succession

HBO

The show hasn't exactly been subtle about foreshadowing Daenerys' eventual child.

Note how Daenerys is openly upset when Tyrion tries to bring up the issue of succession.

Without children, the Targaryen line ends with Jon and Daenerys.

The Blessing

HBO

No one loves Daenerys more than Jorah Mormont, and even he's accepted that Jon will be with Daenerys.

During their ill-fated trek beyond the Wall, Jorah refused to take Longclaw back from Jon.

Instead, Jorah told him "it's yours. May it serve you well, and your children after you."

Only Death Pays For Life

HBO

Daenerys was warned long ago that "only death pays for life."

While saving Jon from the Night King, one of her beloved dragons, Viserion, was lost.

Unfortunately for everyone, the Night King now has an undead dragon of his own.

"The Only Children I'll Ever Have"

HBO

After rescuing Jon, Daenerys basically declared her love for him.

But at the same time, she very pointedly told him that the dragons were the only children she could ever have.

A New Destiny

HBO

Upon his recovery, Jon finally told Daenerys that perhaps she shouldn't have believed that witch.

Perhaps she's been able to have children all along. Then they certainly put that theory to the test!

How will it all turn out? We'll know more when Game of Thrones returns on Sunday, April 14.

Naturally, fans are absolutely freaking out over this potential theory coming true.
