Artist Makes Embroidered Food That Looks Good Enough To Eat

Have you ever seen a piece of art that looks so realistic, you have to do a double-take?

That's exactly what happened to me when I saw Kaoru Hirota's intricate embroidered designs. She creates textile sculptures of common objects that look so realistic, you could easily mistake them for the real thing.

Let's take a look at her creative and whimsical designs.

Kaoru Hirota is an embroidery artist from Japan who specializes in tiny textile creations of common objects.

She's made embroidered versions of animals and plants, but it's her food designs that have really taken the internet by storm.

Kaoru sells and markets her art under the name Hipota, a play on her own name.

Even though her designs look like they are done through knitting or crocheting techniques, they are actually all embroidery!

In an interview with "Amelia's Magazine", Karou said there's an important reason why she likes doing common objects like plants and food.

"As in nature, results differ, so I can’t make the same thing twice. For example, if two strawberries are made, both strawberries would be completely different," she said.

It is Karou's attention to detail that makes her pieces so realistic.

She said her designs involve a lot of "trial and error" but you can't argue with how gorgeous, and delicious, these look. Amazing work, Karou!
