The Duggar family has lost one of their beloved family members, Grandma Mary Duggar. Besides being the grandmother of Jim Bob and Michelle's 19 children, she was also the great-grandmother to a new generation of Duggars.
The family has taken to social media to share the sad news with fans and remember this one-of-a-kind woman. Here's what the family had to say.
Mary Duggar was the mother of Jim Bob Duggar and made a number of appearances on the TLC shows Counting On and 19 Kids And Counting.
They pretty much do everything and anything together.
The whole premise of the show 19 Kids and Counting was based around how close the family was.
According to TMZ, Jim Bob's mother passed away suddenly on Sunday. The cause of death is not known and there is no information as to whether she was sick or suffering beforehand.
"She is greatly loved and will be missed so very much! She lived a tremendous life as a follower of Christ, a wife, a devoted mother, a loving mother-in-law, and a much-loved grandmother," the post read.
"Mary Duggar was also a successful real estate broker who owned Good Neighbor Realty and was noted in Northwest Arkansas for being the broker who put together the property sale for the John Q. Hammons Holiday Inn & Convention Center in Springdale."
It's so hard to lose a family member, especially a grandparent.
"Yesterday, our precious Grandma Duggar went to be with Lord. What amazing and godly woman-she has left quite an amazing legacy. It’s so sweet to know that not only is she with Jesus, but also she is with our sweet baby, Asa in heaven," captioned the post.
"My heart breaks. My grandma died suddenly today! She was an amazing woman of God and such a great example to so many!" Jill said in her Instagram post which showed Mary with her great-grandsons Israel and Samuel.
Ivy is the daughter of Jessa Duggar and her husband, Ben Seewald. Even though Mary has passed away, she and her great-granddaughter will share this special connection forever.
"Lots of tears being shed here — grateful for all the prayers!"
"Yesterday, this precious woman went home to be with Jesus. Our hearts are broken, yet at peace, knowing that she is now in glory with her Savior," she said in her Instagram caption.
