Man Trying To Escape Police Gives Away His Location With A Loud Fart

A suspect's luck vanished recently when he was trying to evade capture by police. As a Clay County, Missouri Sheriff's Office update on Facebook noted, Liberty Police Department ended up not having to go to nearly the lengths they expected to to bring the suspect into custody after his body betrayed him.

The suspect, wanted on a felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance, had up to that point successfully evaded capture.

The police were ready to put a K-9 officer on the hunt, but it turned out that the dog's special sniffer wouldn't be needed — although scent might have come into play if not for an easily identifiable noise.

The hidden suspect ripped a fart so loudly, police had no trouble locating him.

You almost, almost feel sorry for the guy.

Like the room goes quiet and you're still talking loudly, and everyone turns to look at you, only now you're not only red-faced with embarrassment, you're also headed to jail. Plus, you're surrounded by a quagmire of your own stink, and the cops are going to have a good laugh about it.

And laugh they did, sharing the incident on social media.

"Gotta give props to Liberty PD for using their senses to sniff him out!" wrote the Clay County Sheriff's Office on Facebook.

And, no surprise, folks online couldn't help getting in on the action.

The memes came out hot and heavy, as expected.

Is there any more fecund ground for memes than farts that get a criminal locked up?

And if it wasn't memes, it was puns.

Dad jokes and farts go together like, well, dads and farts.

So, the one guy who shouldn't have trusted a fart is now the butt of internet wits the world over.

But hey, you have to have fun where you can, right? If life gives you farts, make fart jokes.
