Just A Bunch Of Pics Showing A Munchkin Kitten That Sleeps Like A Human

Whether they're having kitty dreams, sprawling their limbs in all directions or just drooling all over the place, cats don't care for your sleeping conventions. They do what they want, and sometimes it's pretty cute.

This munchkin kitten, Chata, is featured prominently on the Instagram feed. He's already cute enough on his own to gain a few follows and likes. But when you see how he sleeps, well...let's just take a look.

This would probably be disconcerting if you saw your cat doing it, but really, it's no big deal. This is just how little Chata sleeps: fully on his back, eyes to the sky.

You know how cats will try to murder you if you touch their tummy? They do this because it's a vulnerable body part. For a cat to expose their belly this openly, they must feel safe and secure.

You can see that the adults in Chata's life sleep more conventionally, so it's impossible to say where Chata picked up his weird habit. Clearly he's the kind of kitten who thinks outside the litter box.

Chata is only a couple of months old, and so is his Instagram account. Despite this, the little orange munchkin has racked up more than 40,000 Instagram followers this year alone.

Chata is still very much in his kittenhood, so there's no guarantee that he'll sleep this adorably his whole life. We can certainly hope, though, as the Insta pics are pure gold.

This pic was clearly snapped just after he was woken up. The little guy looks like he's windmilling his feet in an effort to get up and figure out what's going on.

Really, I'm just impressed that he can sleep this squarely on his back without tipping over. Cats have fairly angular spines and I wouldn't have thought feats of balance like this were possible.

I love how he doesn't always sleep the same way. He might have his front paws at his side and he might have them stretching outwards like this. He's always on his back, though.
