Paolo From 'Friends' Reveals The Real Story Behind His Italian Lines

Ahh, Paolo, Rachel's Italian dreamboat from Season 1, who makes his first appearance in "The One With The Blackout".

Today we're going to be talking about his Italian lines and what they really meant.

Everyone loves Paolo.

At least until he made a pass at Pheobe during a massage. But that's just Italians, they're loving people!

I think Rachel could've been a little more culturally sensitive in that moment.

But have you ever wondered what he said all those times he spoke Italian?

NBC

Well, the man that played him, Cosimo Fusco (Sweet name) recently did an interview with Today where he told the story about the real meaning of his lines.

He was just told to ad-lib whatever he wanted in Italian.

So, in the episode, he said:

“When I’m standing by the window with Jennifer and I say, ‘Look at the moon, look at the star’ and I just say that and it stayed in everyone’s mind,”

He wasn't cursing or anything, he was actually saying something people would expect him to say at that moment.

Now that, my friends, is some real professionalism.

Tell me you wouldn't have been tempted just to belt curses!
