Am I The Only One Who Didn't Know Blake Lively And Leonardo DiCaprio Once Dated

Given how absolutely perfect Blake and Ryan Reynolds are, it's easy to forget that the Gossip Girl star ever dated anyone else.

But oh, she did. She's got a long list of celeb exes, including Penn Bagley, Ryan Gosling, and Leonardo DiCaprio.

The latter is what we're focusing on today. Since many people forgot they ever dated, here's a much-needed refresher on their romantic timeline!

2007: Blake revealed she has a crush on Leo.

Years before they met, the Gossip Girl star revealed her feelings for Leo.

She told the now-defunct CosmoGirl that she "had a huge crush" on DiCaprio when she was a child.

She said that Leo and Justin Timberlake are "the two I can really think of just being completely in love with."

November 2010: They meet.

While they knew each other from Hollywood circles, they crossed paths publically for an eight-person business dinner in NYC.

At the time, Lively was being considered for the role of Daisy Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby opposite DiCaprio.

May 2010: They hug on a yacht.

While Blake didn't land the role of Daisy (Carey Mulligan nabbed that), Blake did appear to win Leo's heart.

The pair were spotted on a yacht in Cannes together during Cannes Film Festival. At the time, DiCaprio was fresh from his split with his longtime model girlfriend, Bar Refaeli.

The moment they hugged on the yacht, "DiLively" became a thing.

A week later, they were spotted holding hands while walking the streets of Portofino, Italy. Taming a womanizer like Leo isn't easy, but Lively got pretty close.

"He looked very in love," an eyewitness said of their moonlight stroll.

"Her face lit up when Leo was talking," another source said.

"I've never seen him like this with a girl," added the insider of DiCaprio.

At the time, he was giving her the A-list treatment by wining and dining her with fancy dinners, helicopter rides, and extravagant parties.

May 31, 2011: Leo heads back to work.

Their work commitments are important to note since they played a role in their breakup.

Leo was working on his film, J. Edgar while Blake was busy filming Gossip Girl. Speaking of the popular CW show, executive producer Joshua Safran, told Vanity Fair that the couple's relationship influenced the show.

“We learned a lot from Blake,” Safran said.

“When I think about shooting the L.A. episodes, Blake was dating [DiCaprio] at the time, and she had this thing where she had a doll that she took photos of that she sent to Leo.

"Blake was way ahead of the curve. It was pre-Instagram. She was documenting her life in photographs in a way that people were not yet doing.”

June 3, 2011: They visit Disneyland.

The pair take their love to the Happiest Place on Earth: Disneyland!

They entered the park through a private entrance and enjoyed rides that were closed to the public. Dating a celeb really does come with its perks! That wasn't Blake's first Disney date, though; she had previously attended with Ryan Gosling.

July 22, 2011: They go shopping in Santa Barbara

The pair's shopping trip to Solstice Sunglass Boutique in downtown Santa Barbara squashed any rumors that there was trouble in paradise.

By that August, they were spotted taking a romantic bike ride in New York City. Much more eco-friendly than the yacht.

August 30, 2011: Blake visits Leo in Australia.

This was the couple's last time in public together before their split.

Lively went to visit Leo on the set of The Great Gatsby. During their downtime, they took a VIP tour at Featherdale Wildlife Park where they got to spend some time with koalas and dingos.

October 2011: They split.

When breakup rumors swirled around again, they were actually true this time.

A source told People that the split was "amicable" and that distance and work commitments played a factor.

While the timing wasn't right for the pair, it was right for Blake and Ryan Reynolds who start spending time together and eventually married!
