As It Turns Out, We've Been Using Can Openers Wrong Our Whole Lives

Who here loves #LifeHacks? I'll admit I'm such a sucker for them. Why? I mean, why not? If they could help you do something more efficiently, then I'm all for it.

So I just stumbled upon this new hack, and I really wanted to share it with you guys. Check it out, and you'll never use the can opener the same way again, ha, ha!

Let me ask you: How do you use the can opener?

Do you place it on the side of the can? I bet you're a little confused now. I mean, how else are you supposed to use it. Right?

Well, as it turns out, the way most of us use it isn't the best way.

OMG! What? Oh, yes. You heard it here first, ha, ha! Apparently, you're supposed to put the can opener flat on the top and not on the side.

Hear me out.

This method is the one that chefs use. So how can we question it, right? I mean, if they do it, then why not us? Okay, it may seem odd, but apparently, it works like a charm.

Don't believe me?

Then check this video out. The person in it shows you exactly how well it works. They're so confident in this method that they're even holding the can up in the air. Oh wow! That's one bold move, huh?

I would definitely be a little wary of making a mess, ha, ha!

But now that I see them do it, I feel a little more at ease to try it out myself. How about you? Are you with me on this so far?

And here's another hack of theirs.

This one is somewhat controversial. In another video, they claim that you should flip the frying pan instead of flipping the pancake. Um, okay? But what happens when you use oil when you cook? Yikes, I don't want to find out.

The last hack they show is the one with a wooden spoon.

Apparently, if you put a wooden spoon over a pot of boiling water, it won't boil over. The wooden spoon is hydrophobic, so it can't absorb the water.

Instead, it just punctures the surface tension of the bubbles.

Who knew? Now, I have to find a wooden spoon that's long enough to put over my pot, ha, ha! Mine seems to be a little small to be used for that.

So what do you think of these hacks?

Are you willing to try any of them? How about the can opening one? I don't know if I trust myself to hold the can in the air, but other than that, I'm willing to try it.
