Jamie Lee Curtis Opens Up About Her Struggle With Addiction After Plastic Surgery

Opening up about your vulnerabilities as a celebrity must be incredibly difficult knowing that millions of people might be trying to judge you for your struggles or your perceived weaknesses. But it can also be incredibly empowering to speak out and try to help anyone out there who might be going through something similar.

Jamie Lee Curtis is no stranger to that.

Obviously, we all love Jamie.

She's one of our favorite actresses, whether it's in Freaky Friday, Halloween, True Lies, Trading Places, Knives Out, or just for being her funny, honest self.

Jamie has also recently celebrated 22 years of sobriety and opened up about her addiction in a recent interview.

Jamie was recently asked about her opinion on plastic surgery.

"I tried plastic surgery and it didn’t work," Jamie said, while adding, "It got me addicted to Vicodin. I’m 22 years sober now. The current trend of fillers and procedures, and this obsession with filtering, and the things that we do to adjust our appearance on Zoom are wiping out generations of beauty."

Jamie revealed that she had had “routine plastic surgery to remove the puffiness” around her eyes.

Jamie has said that after that experience, she became addicted to the painkillers. “I was the wildly controlled drug addict and alcoholic,” she said. “I never did it when I worked. I never took drugs before 5 p.m. I never, ever took painkillers at 10 in the morning."

"I chased that feeling for a long time," she revealed.

We love that Jamie can share these stories with her fans, and we love her honesty and her commitment to her sobriety!
