Blake Lively Trolls Ryan Reynolds After He Announces That He's Taking A 'Sabbatical' From Acting

Any true fan of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively understands that the couple has a "special" relationship. They've become known for their goofy candor, as well as for endlessly trolling one another.

Recently, Ryan took to Instagram to announce that he would be taking a sabbatical from acting. Not long after, Blake responded with a comment of her own that couldn't be more true to form.

Ryan and Blake have been married for nine years now.

In that time, they've become known equally as much for trolling one another (and the media) as they are for their acting careers. Absolutely everything is fair game and nothing is sacred.

For example, there was the time that Ryan posted a collage of not-so-nice couple shots.

This is how Ryan chose to say "Happy Birthday" to his wife. To say that these shots are candid is putting it lightly. Ryan looks fine, but poor Blake clearly wasn't ready for any of these.

She responded with a birthday post of her own as well as a hilarious caption.

Blake referred to Ryan as a "lost soul" for requesting a birthday pie as opposed to a cake.

She then made sure to note how Ryan couldn't even wait to blow out his candles.

"Happy Birthday," Blake said. "I honestly can’t believe we’re still married."

Ryan recently completed shooting on the upcoming film *Spirited*, co-starring Will Ferrell.

In the caption, Ryan explained that Spirited was without a doubt one of the most challenging films he'd ever worked on in his entire career.

And how even as little as three years ago, he wouldn't have been able to do it.

"Singing, dancing and playing in the sandbox with Will Ferrell made a whole lotta dreams come true," Ryan said.

Personally, that is something that I can't wait to see.

He also made sure to give thanks to co-star Octavia Spencer, noting that this was the second film he'd had the pleasure of working with her on.

Ryan explained that now was the perfect time for him to take a little break from making movies.

"I’m gonna miss every second working with this obscenely gifted group of creators and artists," Ryan continued. He concluded by stating how the talent of his co-stars is only exceeded by their kindness.

The news of Ryan's announcement was met with a wave of support.

Octavia Spencer saw the post and wrote, "You’re an amazing actor/singer and producer. I had a blast working with you, Will, and this outstanding cast and crew! Enjoy your downtime."

However, not all of the comments were as supportive and sentimental.

Amid the praise and well wishes, Blake Lively decided to chime in with a comment of her own. True to form, she cheekily wrote, "Michael Caine did it first."

Blake is referencing a recent quote by Michael Caine, wherein the legendary actor appeared to announce his retirement.

Michael was asked by Simon Mayo whether or not Best Sellers would be his final performance.

"I think it would be, yeah."

I don’t have any… there haven’t been any offers, obviously, for two years because nobody’s been making any movies that I wanna do, but also I’m 88,” Caine said.

Michael then made a follow-up post via Twitter to clarify his comments.

"I haven’t retired and not a lot of people know that," Michael said matter-of-factly.

Michael's army of dedicated fans couldn't have been happier by the news.

His tweet has been shared nearly 30K times and has received well over 320K likes.

Hopefully, Ryan won't keep us waiting too long before he announces his return to the silver screen.

You better believe that when he does, Blake Lively is going to be there, waiting in the wings for the perfect comment to troll her husband once again.
