Mom Gives Her Kids Cheap Gifts From Santa So He Doesn't Steal Her Thunder

Growing up, I think many of us came to expect our most lavish gifts from Santa Claus. Hello, there's a reason we wrote him so many dang letters and made special visits to the mall to chat with him! My parents would take care of the essentials: socks, new toothbrushes, pajamas. Santa would provide the big dollhouses, toy cars, and whatever trendy gift we had to have that year.

Now, one mom is saying enough is enough — we can't let Santa keep taking the credit!

To be fair, I think this is a great idea for lots of different reasons: 1) doing this makes sure kids aren't wondering what Santa got their friends at school a new inground pool, but only brought them socks and 2) it allows parents to take the credit they deserve!

It's not Santa waking up at 4 in the morning to go Black Friday shopping!

It's not Santa working overtime hours to make the kiddos' wishes come true — it's mom and dad. Well, realistically, it's most likely mom.

TikTok user and mom of two SJ is going viral for her idea of getting her kids gifts from Santa from the dollar store.

"I’ve just been to the pound shop to get some bits for the kids’ stockings. I say stockings, I always just do them a gift bag," she says in the video.

"This is what Father Christmas brings because he’s not getting the credit for the big presents."

The "stocking" gift bags included cookies, candies, hair accesories, and bath bombs.

Honestly, I think this is an amazing idea and something more parents should be doing!
