Billie Eilish Shared The Actual Reason Behind Her Decision To Wear Baggy Clothes

After much back-and-forth on why Billie Eilish dresses in baggy clothes all of the time, the 17-year-old has set the record straight.

And it's not for the reasons you'd think.

Ever since her hit single "Ocean Eyes" accidentally went viral, Billy Eilish as become a name that everyone knows.

That's a heck of a lot more than most 17-year-olds can say.

Her recent album "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?" debuted at #1 when it came out in March.

If that wasn't enough, the talented singer just became the first artist born this century to reach #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for her single, "Bad Guy."

Another thing people know to be true about Billie is that she's a style icon in her own right.

She doesn't follow the latest trends, she makes them.

For example, you can often find the blue-eyed beauty wearing the baggiest of clothes.

And somehow making it look super cool and less hobo chic.

In the past, she's explained why she prefers "baggier, the better" when it comes to clothes.

In a Calvin Klein advertisement, she said, "I never want the world to know everything about me."

“I mean, that’s why I wear big baggy clothes: Nobody can have an opinion, because they haven’t seen what’s underneath, you know?”

Interestttinggg.

It certainly makes sense since singers who reveal too much often get criticized if their bodies ever look anything less than perfect.

She finished her statement with this:

"Nobody can be like, ‘She’s slim-thick’, ‘She’s not slim-thick’, ‘She’s got a flat [expletive]’, ‘She got a fat [expletive]’. Nobody can say any of that, because they don’t know.”

When she spoke to "Vogue Australia" in June, her comments gave people even more reason to believe that she wears baggy clothes to avoid being sexualized at 17.

"It kind of gives nobody the opportunity to judge what your body looks like," she said.

"I want layers and layers and layers and I want to be mysterious. You don’t know what’s underneath and you don’t know what’s on top."

Do you, girl.

But now in a conversation with Pharrell Williams for "V" magazine, Billy seems to be giving the *actual* reason for why she dresses the way that she does.

And it has nothing to do with what she's said before, meaning that the young singer is claiming her previous comments were misconstrued.

She began by saying that she never wanted her comments on her baggy clothes to become part of the conversation about women getting slut-shamed.

"It’s more, just, I wear what I want to wear," she said. "But of course, everyone sees it as, 'She’s saying no to being sexualized' and 'She’s saying no to being the stereotypical female'."

"[The] positive [comments] about how I dress have this slut-shaming element," she continued.

"Like, 'I am so glad that you are dressing like a boy so that other girls can dress like boys, so that they aren’t sluts'."

"That’s basically what it sounds like to me. And I can't [overstate how] strongly I do not appreciate that, at all."

She said that she just wants everyone, men or women, to feel comfortable in their bodies.

"I don’t like that there’s this weird new world of supporting me by shaming people that [may not] want to [dress like me]," she finished.

My only concern is: ISN'T SHE HOT IN BAGGY CLOTHES DURING THE SUMMERTIME?!

At the end of the day, she's just being Billie.
