It Turns Out The Royal Family Has Protocol When It Comes To Tattoos And We Weren't Expecting It

Being a part of the royal family may sound glamorous, but there's actually way more rules than you'd think.

Things like keeping your chin level a certain way and avoiding eating lobster in public.

So with rules like this, you'd think that tattoos would also be off the table, right?

WRONG. Prepare to be surprised!

When it comes to the royal family, there are some HUGE do's and dont's that they all most follow.

This is called royal protocol and it's pretty much set in stone. Break it and members of the royal family could get a stern talking-to from the Queen.

In addition to that, breaking protocol basically means opening yourself up to a field day from the press.

Some of these rules include how the royal fam can't eat any crustacean cuisine while out, AKA things like lobster, shrimp, crayfish, etc.

Sounds weird, but the reasoning behind it makes total sense.

According to The Sun the Queen doesn't want anyone — herself included — to go through a bad food reaction while in public.

This next rule only affects the royal ladies. It's that they cannot cross their legs while in public, especially if they are wearing a dress or skirt.

Instead, they must do what is called the "Duchess slant," which involves slanting your legs to one side with your ankles together.

Despite these rules, you would assume that tattoos would be off the table, right?

I mean, we can't imagine the Queen with a lower back tattoo anytime soon...

Well, according to Queen’s granddaughter, Zara Tindall, tattoos for the royal table aren't exactly a no-go.

When speaking with Saga Magazine, she said that her husband, Mike, doesn't have a tattoo.

She also pretty much confirmed that if her kids wanted a tattoo, they could get it done without any royal implications.

"I’d also rather one of my daughters came home with a piercing than a tattoo because at least a stud can be removed," she said.

"I wouldn’t have a leg to stand on if they did though.”

Her statement about the piercing isn't all surprising since she had her tongue pierced when she was a teenager.

Quite the royal rebel!

So basically, we can sum everything up to this: Prince Harry and Prince William could have tattoos that we don't know about.

If that's the case, then the internet isn't mad about it.

In fact, based on some tweets, people have been wishing for some royal ink for some time.

This person even had a dream that it was Prince Harry giving them the tattoo.

Talk about sweet dreams!

Although, we think it's best if both William and Harry got a tribute for their late mother, Princess Diana.

Or if Harry got a tribute for baby Archie, that would also be adorbz.

The tattoo artist would definitely have to use red ink to capture the little cutie's growing red hair.

As far as we know, Meghan Markle doesn't have any tatts. Although she did get a henna tattoo done before during a trip to Morocco.

Since Meghan was expecting baby Archie at the time of her visit, it was actually a Moroccan tradition for pregnant women to take part of the henna ceremony.

As for Harry, there doesn't seem to be any royal ink anywhere on him, as this tweet points out.

The photos of naked Harry are in reference to the naked photos scandal that went down in Las Vegas a few years ago.

Harry was in the buff thanks to reportedly playing a game of strip billiards...

Oh well. For now, we can just hope that Harry will one day come to his senses and get a sleeve tattoo like we've always envisioned for him.

I mean, come on.
