Hilarious Video Tests How Narrow A Gap Needs To Be Before A Cat Can't Fit Through

I love science, but I can understand why hypotheses and data and double-blind tests can sound boring to some people.

Even though this article is about a science experiment, don't worry, the scientists in this case are an adorable pair of cats named Maru and Hana.

Hana and Maru's owner wanted to test the hypothesis that as long as a cat's head fits through a space, their whole body will.

They even devised a pretty cool rig for the experiment, with a wooden frame that fits the doorway and a slot for differently sized cardboard openings.

23 centimeters was clearly a cakewalk.

Both cats were focused on getting the best results in the experiment.

As each narrower piece was presented to them, they attempted without question — thought there were likely treats waiting for them on the other side.

Hana remained a professional throughout, but Maru (with the white face) became a bit more dramatic.

But they got through each space with relative ease until they were finally defeated.

Well, only technically defeated.

Maru couldn't get through the 5 cm space, but perhaps the barrier should have been built a little bit higher.

This isn't the only science experiment the kitties have taken part in.

They've tried circular holes, where Maru once again defeated the smallest hole by thinking outside the box.

The "how flat can they squish" test resulted in some great Maru faces!

"Just give me the dang treat, human," that face says.

I told you Maru was the more dramatic of the two.

Of course, screenshots can only show a small portion of the cuteness, so be sure to watch the video for the full experience.

If you've fallen as in love with Hana and Maru as I have, you can see more videos on their YouTube channel or follow them on Instagram
