After 60,000 Applicants, Self-Made Millionaire Reveals Who Lands Dream Job

Earlier this year, an Australian millionaire received a lot of attention by making an open offer for what he dubbed the "coolest job in the world."

In short, he wanted a personal assistant to travel the world with and help run his various eCommerce businesses.

Since the position came with a relatively low barrier of entry (no college degree necessary) and whole lot of perks, it quickly attracted applications from scores of hopefuls.

However, only one of them could possibly get this opportunity and at long last, he's chosen that person.

Although the term "self-made millionaire" gets used pretty loosely nowadays, it fits 27-year-old Matthew Lepre perfectly.

As news.com.au reported, he and his two siblings were raised by a single mother who had to rely on food donations from the Salvation Army to get by.

And when he dropped out of college to pursue his Digital Warriors eCommerce business, she cried for many nights because she was worried he was dooming himself to the hard life she had lived.

While Lepre can recall times when it seemed hopeless, he started making $40,000 a month after two years.

According to news.com.au, that number would eventually climb to up to $120,000 a month over four different businesses.

From there, not only could he support his mother, but he had built up the kind of acumen to teach others how to start similar ventures through his "Warrior Academy."

Of course, the more enterprises he built up, the harder they became to run on his own, so he made a public job offer for a personal assistant.

As he promised, the person with the right management skills, social media savvy, and work ethic would travel throughout the world with him and make a base salary of $52,000 with benefits.

Not only that, but he would cover the cost of all travel and accommodation expenses.

Seven months later, that job is now going to a fellow 27-year-old Australian named Tyanna De Assis.

As she said, "It’s crazy. I am still in shock and wonder how they even came past my CV."

However, since she was working as an office manager when she received the offer and has experience in personal assistant roles, it's not hard to see why Lepre considered her a good fit.

Add that to the fact that her work as a lifestyle blogger has familiarized her with social media content strategies and she seems like even more of a shoo-in.

It also doesn't hurt that she's already been known to travel the world and has already visited 14 countries, which also serves as a big reason why she's not worried that she hasn't gotten to that part yet.

She said she's more interested in learning how Lepre managed to build his empire at such a young age.

Since even her qualifications would make her hard to stand out among 60,000 people, De Assis thinks her cover letter may have helped.

In it, she called herself "the most entertaining PA you will ever have" and marketed herself as a creative individual who strives to create amazing content.

As Lepre said about her, "Tyanna has experience working for CEOs and directors and is knowledgeable about social media. She is a perfectionist which is perfect for this role and is detail and task-oriented."

So far, she's only been in the role for six weeks, but she's already making a good impression.

As Lepre said, "She is a great support to students, has experience with content strategy and can provide a lot of value and get our message across."

De Assis also said that she and Lepre have similar personalities and that has come in handy since they will have to spend up to nine hours at a time working closely with each other.

As she put it, "We’re both scatter brains, we jump from one thing to the next, but it works because I am very OCD and I make sure I get everything down."

After a summer stay at an Australian beach house, the two are planning to embark on a voyage to either Europe or South America.
