Quotes For People Who Need A Serious Memory Reboot

This morning I forgot my mug of coffee on the counter in my kitchen for an hour, and when I finally realized what I'd done, I smacked myself on the forehead and then stuck the mug in the microwave to heat up.

Another hour later, I remembered my coffee mug was in the microwave and smacked myself again before giving it another quick zap in there to get it hot.

Five minutes ago, I came to the very disappointing realization that the poor mug still hasn't left my kitchen and at this point, it probably never will.

I'm not sure when it happened, but at some point I just totally lost my ability to remember things.

It's not a very fun game, but we play it super often and I always end up losing.

Or winning, I guess, depending on how you look at it.

My poor memory has actually gotten me into trouble in the past, and I'm sure it will again in the future.

For instance, just yesterday I was supposed to make a very important phone call at 3 PM sharp, a fact which I remembered at exactly 10:27 PM.

And last week, I forgot I was making spaghetti so guess who ended up eating overcooked noodles and burnt sauce for dinner?

But the weird thing is, I'm good at remembering *some* things, as long as they're totally useless and without any sort of value.

I may have forgotten my coffee mug for hours in my kitchen today, but you can bet I still know all the words to "Total Eclipse of the Heart."

And I would be happy to demonstrate it for you, except we may want to wait because I just remembered I left my mug on the counter again.

(It's OK. This time it's tea.)
