Viral Video Hilariously Captures Confused Teens Trying To Make One Call On A Rotary Telephone

These teens has four minutes to dial one phone number. Let's find out if they can crack the code of this rotary phone.

Can They Do It?!

These teens were given a nearly impossible task: attempt to make a phone call using a rotary phone in under four minutes. I'm just kidding. It's an incredibly easy task. This should take ten seconds, max.

But it doesn't. It takes all of the seconds, until they finally run out of time and give up.

No, They Can't

There are a lot of great moments in this video -- the kids trying to push the numbers inside the holes, them not grasping the concept of turning the wheel all the way to the metal stopper. But the absolute best is that when they finally pick up the receiver, they don't know what the noise on the other end is. They don't know what a dial tone is.

They're Not the Only Ones

These aren't the first youths to be stumped by a rotary phone. In this clip from last year, a gaggle of teens attempt and fail to dial a phone number.

How It's Done

Look, kids, this is all so super easy. Here is a nine-minute tutorial from 1954 explaining how to use this contraption.
